The vision of Shibumi Gallery is to create an environment for the exhibition of unique works of art and fostering an exchange of ideas. We feel that non- mainstream galleries like Shibumi are crucial in exhibiting works of art by established artists and bringing 'new blood' to the community and culture.

Shibumi Gallery shows contemporary art, jewelry, and clothing. It is located at 1402 Fifth Street at Camelia, a few blocks off of the Gilman Street exit in Berkeley, CA. It is located in the neighborhood of the West Berkeley corridor which includes many artist studios, the popular Fourth Street shopping area and a rich mixture of residential and industrial enclaves.

Shibumi Gallery was created by April Higashi to encompass her own jewelry and the elegant and uniquely beautiful clothing designs of Ocelot. Also featured is the metal sculpture and furniture of Eric Powell. The gallery will host exhibitions of various artists and artisans from its Fifth Street location. Please sign our mailing list for upcoming shows and events for the gallery.
